UEH works and signs collaboration with European universities within the Erasmus+ project

In the morning of January 24, 2019, at campus A, UEH held a mid-term review meeting for JEUL Erasmus+ project and signed agreements with EU universities in the Project framework.

Attending the meeting, there was Prof. Pompella Maurizio - Scientific coordinator from Sienna University, Professors from Kent University, Vilnius University, Skoda AUTO University, Nanjing University and Banking University. On the side of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, there was the participation of Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Vice President, Leader of Department of Scientific Management - International Cooperation, Information Technology Department, and a member of the project.

Prof. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Vice President in his speech introduced an overview of the main features of the JEUL Erasmus project, the role of UEH in the project and the content to be discussed at the meeting.

Project "Erasmus+ Building the capacity of higher educational institutions through cooperative project with enterprises" (2017-2020) aims to improve the quality of teaching and improve the effectiveness of learning of students, meeting the demands of the labor market during internationalization. The project helps strengthen the connection and cooperation between universities in Vietnam and major universities in Europe to learn practical experiences in establishing subjects and curricula to meet the needs of students’ demand in dynamic market conditions.

Being one of the two members of the project in Vietnam, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City in general and the School of Banking under UEH in particular will receive funding from the project, and at the same time be responsible for the development of 05 case studies, developed from local businesses and related to the international advanced program of UEH to create a sustainable connection between businesses and universities.

With the support of the project, UEH will build a simulation center (UEH SIMULATION LAB) to create an advanced teaching model to shorten the gap between theory and practice, helping students to adapt better to the technology environment in the field of Banking - Finance - Securities. In addition, UEH also participates in regular activities of the project with programs to improve lecturers, managers and students of UEH at European universities in the period of 2018-2020.

At the meeting, Dr. Tran Mai Dong - Head of Department of Research Administration - International Relations introduced about UEH and demonstrated our capacity in teaching and research with internationalization, multidiscipline and other significant characteristics of UEH.

Mr. Dang Thai Thinh - Deputy Head of Information Technology Department presented the UEH’s information technology platforms for teaching and learning (virtual learning environment). Delegates contributed their ideas to enhance this platform.

UEH also reported and evaluated the survey results of 200 enterprises, showing gaps between the knowledge and skills of newly graduated students, and needs to strengthen the relationship between schools and businesses.

Also on this occasion, UEH has signed a MOU with partner Vilnius University (Lithunia) on research and training, student and teacher exchange. Skoda Auto University (Czech Republic) has also signed a MOU with UEH, within the Erasmus+  project on student and teacher exchange, double majors, associate doctoral program ...
