As part of its ongoing development mission, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) is committed to fostering sustainable community values, with a particular focus on supporting farmers and agribusinesses in the food and agricultural sectors.
Recently, UEH has accelerated its support for an innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem through initiatives like the UEH Institute of Innovation (UII) and by joining startup support communities, especially those targeting food startups and agribusinesses. This is part of UEH's commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG2), aimed at addressing food security challenges in Southeast Vietnam and beyond.
At UEH, the UEH Institute of Innovation (UII) plays a pivotal role in supporting innovative ideas, applications, and research in economic fields to drive Vietnam’s creative economy forward. Selected startups receive a comprehensive package of resources, including co-working spaces, training programs, project mentorship, networking opportunities, and market access support. Food-related startups within UII’s incubation program gain an additional advantage by showcasing their products on the UEH Community Shop. For instance, companies like HAPINUT and YoBite are now connecting with over 30,000 UEH students through the INNO SHOP category on this online marketplace. This platform, managed by UEH, provides a unique marketing opportunity with zero-cost promotion and preferential management fees, helping startups reach potential customers efficiently.

Beyond the INNO SHOP, food startups in UII’s program can also use the institute’s facilities, present at UEH’s 13 campuses, and participate in school-sponsored conferences and events. As a leader in practical innovation, UEH continuously researches, develops, and tests solutions that drive economic and environmental sustainability. Further details of these activities can be found here.

The Mekong Delta is Vietnam's largest agricultural production and export region. This is an important commodity, but there are also many problems, including the output of agricultural products in an increasingly competitive market. Along with research efforts and policy proposals through scientific seminars and working sessions with localities, UEH also supports local agricultural enterprises in communication activities, display and consumption of this commodity.

Through unwavering support for both startups and agribusinesses, UEH not only strengthens the innovative ecosystem but also contributes to sustainable community development. This commitment reflects UEH's dedication to sustainable development, where each initiative helps address food security and contributes to shared societal and environmental prosperity.
