Following the success of the first international conference on Resilience by Technology and Design (RTD 2022) with the theme "Smart Living," which received profound interest from a diverse range of researchers, scholars, companies, and enterprises both domestically and internationally, the year 2024 sees the School of Technology and Design at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH-CTD), along with prestigious universities from various countries: Polytechnic University of Milan (Italy), University of Melbourne (Australia), Handong Global University (Korea), Kwangwoon University (Korea), Seoul National University (Korea), The University of Trieste (Italy), University of Saint Joseph (Macau), The University of Sydney (Australia), National Sun Yat-Sen University (Taiwan), National Yunlin University of Science and Technology (Taiwan), Singapore University of Technology and Design (Singapore); collaborating with relevant institutions including the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), jointly organizing the second conference (RTD 2024) with the theme "Fostering Sustainability" from July 15th to 18th, 2024.

The RTD 2024 conference emphasizes the role of advanced technology, innovative design methods, and comprehensive data analysis in generating solutions aligned with principles of environmental, social, and economic responsibility, aiming towards sustainable actions and improving the quality of life for humanity. Particularly, the RTD 2024 conference held at the UEH Vinh Long Campus on July 17th, 2024, will focus on the sub theme "For a More Sustainable Mekong Delta."

The RTD 2024 conference at UEH Vinh Long Campus also aims to identify suitable solutions, technologies, and policies to implement the national strategy on research, development, and application of information technology and communication until 2030, as per Decision 127/QD-TTg by the Prime Minister dated January 26th, 2021. This conference is also a significant event in the series of activities commemorating the 5th anniversary of the establishment of UEH Vinh Long Campus, the first Campus of UEH located in the Mekong Delta region.

In addition to presentations from scholars both domestic and international, reports from local departments and agencies will also be featured in parallel sessions of the RTD 2024 conference with the branch theme "For a More Sustainable Mekong Delta." This serves as an opportunity for scientists, young researchers, graduate students, and doctoral candidates to share and publish their research in reputable publications.

Articles submitted to the RTD conference, if selected and presented at the conference, will undergo another round of review by the Organizing Committee. Selected articles meeting standards will be submitted through the Atlantis Press International Publishing System. Atlantis Press will conduct a rigorous quality review process, and articles with the highest quality will be proposed for publication in high-ranking journals listed in the Publisher's Prestigious Journal Lists, with some articles meeting standard quality criteria being selected for publication in Atlantis Press Proceedings.

Furthermore, authors of articles meeting standard criteria may consider submitting to journals sponsored by the RTD 2024 conference for fast-track review support, including the Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies (JABES; Scopus Q1), Australasian Marketing Journal (AMJ), and other journals continuously updated on the conference's official website (http://rtdconference.info/).

Articles submitted to the RTD 2024 conference with the sub theme "For a More Sustainable Mekong Delta" must present new research, not previously published or currently under publication elsewhere. The research aims to propose innovative ideas and solutions to address specific issues for a more sustainable future of the Mekong Delta through participation, collaboration, and transfer of applications and scientific research. In addition to the main themes of the RTD 2024 conference, the conference at the Vinh Long Campus will cover topics mentioned within the main branch of RTD 2024, along with some expanded topic points mentioned below (but not limited to):

  • Digital transformation in sustainable agriculture (e.g., increasing crop productivity and resource efficiency through IoT, AI, and data analytics...).
