A delegation from the University of Danang paying a working visit to UEH

On the morning of June 7, 2024, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) warmly welcomed a delegation from the University of Danang for a visit and working session. This meeting aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two universities, creating a foundation and opportunities for both sides to share, to discuss, and to learn from each other’s diverse perspectives and experiences in financial management and investment planning within the university model.

Overview of the working session

Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Khắc Quốc Bảo, Vice President of UEH, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the delegation from the University of Danang: “University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and University of Danang have had a long-standing relationship in teaching, scientific research, and student recruitment. This historical bond provides a valuable foundation for current leaders to continue nurturing and developing. UEH operates with a market-oriented philosophy: managing the university like a business, with a focus on financial and accounting operations. Our Finance and Investment Department not only handles basic accounting and cash flow management but also engages in risk management activities akin to those in enterprises to support UEH’s long-term development.”

MSc. Nguyễn Văn Hân, Head of Planning and Finance, shared during the session: “This is our second visit to UEH for an official working session. We highly appreciate UEH’s management philosophy, which we believe is a strategic, practical vision for university governance. Knowing that UEH excels in financial and investment planning management, the University of Danang has chosen UEH as a destination to visit and exchange experiences in financial, accounting, and investment operations.”

During the session, the representatives from UEH and the University of Danang openly shared their perspectives and experiences on financial management topics listed as financial management mechanisms, budget allocation, and regulation, income management for staff, effective economic and technical standards for accredited training programs, and revenue enhancement solutions. Both sides also discussed overcoming common challenges in financial management and tender evaluation. Furthermore, they proposed collaborations in student and expert exchanges, international projects, and enterprise relations in Ho Chi Minh City and Danang. Additionally, the information regarding the future orientation of the two sides, as well as UEH’s successful models was also shared in the discussion.

The favorable exchanges during the session have fostered a cooperative relationship between the two universities. This is an opportunity for UEH and the University of Danang to learn from each other’s experiences in university governance, financial management, and autonomy, striving for sustainable development in the future.
