Cultural Festival Welcoming UEH K49 New Students – Noi Vong Tay Lon 2023: Lodestar – Design your future from day one

In order to welcome new K49 students - The Next UEH Gen: Smart and Green, an Orientation Week took place with many meaningful activities associated with core values at University of Economics Ho Chi Minh (UEH) with 4 festivals: Sustainable Day, United Day, Optimist Day and Dynamic Day. The week successfully attracted the participation of more than 1000 students every day. Not only that, the Festival Night was the ending point that could not be more beautiful, closing Noi Vong Tay Lon 2023 with sublime emotions and also opening a wonderful journey for new UEH students.

The opening ceremony took place in a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the participating students. More than 500 students were present at UEH Campus B to participate in the first day of the Orientation Week with booths arranged by Clubs/Teams/Groups, Unions - Schools/Institutes/Dormitories at UEH.

Sustainable Day: Green UEHers citizens aiming for a sustainable development community

The festival introduced "green living" activities through a number of booths, workshops and competitions to share sustainable values. The festival was not only a place to help new students interact and make friends but also a place to help New UEH-ers experience, study, and aim for a future of sustainable development, bringing K49s many interesting things and lots of useful knowledge.

In the afternoon of the Festival, the Finale of the "Green Life in UEH" Contest took place in the form of creating propaganda videos regarding environmental protection, sustainable universities, and green living. Students not only could express their opinions and contribute opinions on methods to prevent environmental pollution but also listen to professional suggestions from the judges.

The festival ended with the Fireside Chat activity "Your Entrepreneurial journey: What to prepare?" jointly organized by the Institute of Innovation, UII, and UEH Dynamic Startup Student Club With the participation of successful Startup Founders and Co-Founders, the activity taught students many lessons regarding entrepreneurship and provided useful experience in starting a business and preparation for the future.

United Day: Comprehensive integration aiming to become a global citizen

Through exchange and connection activities, the Festival was a space of integration and multiculturalism that attracted the participation of international students studying and exchanging at UEH along with many national cultural activities, creating opportunities for UEH students to learn about the diversity of different cultures, contributing to positioning the image of UEH students as global citizens.

United Day had many impressive activities listed as exploring multinational culture - "Multinational Folk Game", experiencing multinational folk games - "CrossXCulture", Talk Show "Global Citizen". After participating in the above activities, UEH students learned many interesting things as well as trained and prepared themselves with the necessary tools to become global citizens in the future.

Closing the Festival was the musical "Lodestar The Musical" taking place in Hall A.116. The show brought to the audience songs and stories from both classic and modern musicals while viewers could experience a variety of music, from fun songs to cheerful and emotional melodies.

Optimist Day: Spreading positive energy

The festival included motivational activities, promoting optimism, and expressing personal identity. This was a stop where new students were exposed to the values of building good mental health, maintaining a positive life and the right attitude.

Coming to Optimist Day, students could experience many activities including visiting the Deep Breath exhibition, and finding their own IKIGAI ego. Besides, students were also free to decorate lanterns for the Mid-Autumn Festival with their own hands.

In the afternoon, the music show "Be Optimistic" took place - a concert with gentle, deep sounds that helped students feel the optimistic energy and love of life. This was one of the therapies that helped students relax after a long day of studying and working.

Dynamic Day: Burning with youth, asserting your own personality

Organized for the first time and extremely successful with The Amazing Race activity, Dynamic Day most accurately and clearly expressed the spirit and enthusiasm of youth with more than 500 active students participating in a series of continuous challenges of mind and power. In addition, the Flashmob: Breaking Bound competition with 4 tables corresponding to 4 different topics created a vibrant music playground between Schools, Institutes, professional committees, clubs, teams and groups at UEH and Vinh Long Campus. Music brings us closer together and the flash mob activity helped unite the new students through self-expression and passion for music.

Noi Vong Tay Lon 2023: Lodestar - sublime emotions, opening a wonderful journey for new UEH students.

The night of the Orientation Week 2023: LODESTAR organized by the UEH Student Association took place successfully at Hall A.116 Campus A - University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. The festival night had the participation of nearly 10 Clubs/Teams/Groups, Unions - Schools/Institutes/Dormitories under the UEH Union - Association, ready to burn their hearts out, exploding with the enthusiasm of youth. With the role of guiding sailors on their adventures and activities within the framework of Noi Vong Tay Lon 2023 - Lodestar would orient talented new K49 students on the journey to develop their own strengths.

The opening of the Festival was created and performed by the VNXK team and made a strong impression on the audience right from the first moments. Not simply being an art performance, the VNXK Team built a unique artwork with every detail carefully and meticulously cared for. The authenticity in the reenactment came not only from the costumes and use of props but also from the excellence of the actors and singers in the VNXK Team. They have transformed themselves to completely empathize with the characters and create a delicate artistic experience. Every step of the performance showed their passion and endless efforts, creating a unique and unforgettable creative work in the hearts of the audience.

Speaking at the Festival, Dr. Dinh Cong Khai - Vice President of UEH - shared about the meaning of the Cultural Festival Week to welcome new students 2023: "This year, to welcome The Next UEH Gen: Smart and Green, the UEH K49 Orientation Week 2023: LODESTAR took place excitingly with many activities associated with the pillars of development and sustainable values at UEH. Through that, a series of welcoming activities helps new students understand more about UEH as well as be ready to develop sustainably with UEH."

In addition, the festival was honored to welcome the support and participation of Party Committee Representatives - Board of Directors, Heads/Deputies of Departments, Schools/Institutes, lecturers, school staff, and former officers of the Youth UEH Union - Association from different periods.

After more than 15 years of development, especially in 2023, the "Future Brightness" scholarship has been awarded to 05 new K49 students who are in difficult circumstances. These special students overcame many difficulties to write their names on the journey of conquering knowledge in the classroom and they were also present that night.

Noi Vong Tay Lon 2023 with the theme "LODESTAR" really heated up the atmosphere with diverse and colorful performances from Clubs/Teams/Groups. Each performance was not only a performance but also an impressive artistic journey.

The melodies of folk songs were blended with the dynamism of modern music, creating a unique and emotional musical experience.

Martial Arts Performance - Martial Arts Club: Martial Arts performance was not only a demonstration of strength and technique but also a skilled art. The members of the Martial Arts Club demonstrated their strength and flexibility through skillful movements, making the audience not only amazed by their strength but also admiring the artistic beauty of the performance.

Youth Melody Club provided a vibrant and modern space with modern dance performances. Skilled movements, combined with vibrant music, created a delicate and attractive dance picture. The dancers conveyed their energy and charisma to the audience perfectly.

The VNXK team and Live Band team from the Guitar Club - UEHG brought a perfect combination of great vocals, attractive music and burning energy. They not only performed emotional songs but also created a lively and close musical space for the audience.

It would be a big mistake not to mention the presence of a number of "super hot" singers appearing at the Festival. Hoa Minzy, HURRYKNG and Madihu all gave UEH-ers an unforgettable emotional night. Not only did they show off their superb live singing ability but their enthusiastic and friendly interactions with the audience also left a strong mark in the hearts of UEH-ers.
