Blended Learning and Hybrid working approaches at University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City

UEH has been increasingly recognizing the benefits of online learning and remote working policies as part of a forward-thinking approach to both education and employment. By promoting and standardizing telecommuting or remote working for faculty and staff, the university can boost flexibility, reduce environmental impact, and improve work-life balance. The teaching method applied at UEH effectively combines online learning with a learner-centered approach, thereby enhancing lifelong learning for students. Notably, UEH is implementing the “Blended Classroom” and “Hybrid Classroom” methods in its teaching practices. These methods help maintain continuous and efficient learning and research processes for students, overcoming barriers of space, time, and even pandemics, while also allowing students easy access to online learning resources.

Ho Chi Minh City and large urban areas in the Southern Key Economic Region are the main agricultural and food consumption markets of Southern Provinces/Cities and especially the Provinces/Cities in the Southern Key Economic Region. Therefore, the intra-regional linkage between Provinces and Cities in the production and consumption of agricultural and food products to ensure food safety is extremely necessary to protect the health of tens of millions of future residents and in the world. From the current situation of organizing food production that meets safety standards as well as the difficult and outstanding problems in the locality, the author group has conducted research and analysis to propose management policies and solutions to increase supply and market-stabilization supply in the Provinces and Cities of the Southern Key Economic Zone.

University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) officially upgrading towards becoming a “Multi-disciplinary University”

On the 4th day of October 2023, the Prime Minister signed Decision 1146/QĐ-TTg, initiating the transformation of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) into a University. This decision places UEH among 7 higher education institutions in Vietnam that operate in accordance with the model of a “multi-disciplinary and multi-major university” in alignment with the global system of advanced universities. This represents a significant developmental step, built upon nearly five decades of accumulated endogenous capacity. It aligns with the practical requirements in Vietnam and the development trend in university development. This foundation relies on the appropriate utilization of internal resources, and the simultaneous establishment of cooperative relationships with domestic and international partners. The ultimate goal is to fulfill the mission, vision and orientation that have been consistently and specifically shaped at each stage of UEH’s journey.
