On May 9, 2026, the Department of Foreign Languages - UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG), officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Pacific Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning (PacCALL) in Taichung City, Taiwan. This is a prominent event within the framework of the "UEH 50 Years - 50 Partners in 5 Continents" program series, coinciding with the university's participation in the Global Conference on Computer-Assisted Language Learning (GloCALL 2026).
The UEH College of Economics, Law and Government (CELG) delegation, led by Dr. Vo Doan Tho - Vice Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, held a meeting and working session with the Pacific Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning (PacCALL) in Taichung City, Taiwan. Representing PacCALL was Prof. Dr. Siew Ming Thang - President of PacCALL, together with international scholars and educators.

The working session was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CELG and PacCALL. The signing ceremony marked an important milestone in UEH's internationalization strategy, while affirming the university's commitment to promoting global academic cooperation in the fields of technology application in language teaching, educational innovation, and digital pedagogy. The cooperation agreement establishes a platform for collaborative activities between the two parties, including the exchange of representatives, the implementation of joint academic initiatives, resource sharing, and the coordination of future seminars and academic events.

Within the framework of this strategic cooperation, the two parties also officially announced the plan to jointly organize the GloCALL 2027 Conference, expected to be hosted at UEH.
The highlight of the program was the moment when UEH and PacCALL representatives jointly performed the Flag Journey ceremony to commemorate the establishment of the cooperative relationship and to welcome the milestone of UEH's 50th anniversary, demonstrating a shared commitment to innovation, internationalization, and sustainable educational development.

In addition to international cooperation activities, from May 6 to 9, 2026, lecturers from the Department of Foreign Languages also actively participated in academic activities at GloCALL 2026. The conference brought together numerous scholars, experts, and educators from many countries, creating a forum for exchanging ideas on research, innovation, and technology application in language education. Within the framework of the conference, UEH lecturers presented multiple research papers related to technology-assisted language teaching, artificial intelligence in education, and teaching methodology innovation, thereby contributing to spreading UEH's academic and research activities on the international stage.
