UEH Announcing and Awarding Decisions on the Establishment and Appointment of Leaders of The Party - Union Office, University Office and Department of Finance - Investment Planning

On May 2, 2024, at Hall A1.03, 59C Nguyen Dinh Chieu, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) announced and awarded decisions on the establishment and appointment of leaders of the Party - Union Office, University Office and Department of Finance - Investment Planning.

Pursuant to Resolution No. 40-NQ/DU dated November 27, 2023 of the Party Executive Committee of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City on implementing the restructuring of units under University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City to June 2025, Project No. 2838/DA-DHKT-QTNNL dated December 25, 2023 of the University Director on restructuring, organizing and rearranging functional management units into departments and divisions according to the university model, on April 25, 2024, the Council of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City passed resolutions with immediate effect from May 1, 2024 on the establishment of a new Department of Finance - Investment Planning on April 25, 2024 on the basis of upgrading the Department of Finance - Accounting, reorganizing the University Office, and separating the Party - Union department to establish the Party - Union Office.

On May 2, 2024, the meeting to announce and confer decisions to establish and appoint leaders of the Department of Finance - Investment Planning, University Office and Party - Union Office officially took place. Attending the program were Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the University Council; Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - University Director; Assoc.Prof. Bui Quang Hung - Deputy Director of the University; Assoc.Prof. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of the UEH Policy and Strategic Advisory Council; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of the Union, along with the leaders and all officials and employees working at the Department of Finance - Investment Planning, the University Office and the Party - Union Office.

At the program, UEH in turn conferred decisions on the establishment of the new Party - Union Office, University Office and Department of Finance - Investment Planning. In particular,

The Party - Union Office was established on the basis of separating the Party - Union department from the University Office and officially put into operation from May 1, 2024 relying on Resolution No. 22/NQ-DHKT by Executive Board of the University Council. Accordingly, the Party Committee approved to assign Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy, Chairman of UEH Union to hold the position of Chief of the Party - Union Office, at the same time, appointed Ms. Vo Thi Mai Xuan, Deputy Chief of the University Office as the Deputy Chief of the Party - Union Office.

The University Office has reorganized its functions, tasks, organizational structure, and apparatus on the basis of Resolution No. 20/NQ-DHKT-HDDH dated April 25, 2024 of the University Council with immediate effect since May 1, 2024. Mr. Tran Anh Thanh Son has continued to hold the position of Deputy Chief of Office, and Mr. Le Dong Du has continued to hold the position of Deputy Chief of Office. At the same time, Ms. Dang Thi Ngoc Hung, Deputy Head of the Department of Infrastructure Management, was approved by the Party Committee to be transferred to the position of Deputy Chief of the University Office since May 1, 2024.

The Department of Finance - Investment Planning was established on the basis of upgrading the Department of Finance - Accounting with all current functions and tasks and additional functions of analyzing and consulting on financial and accounting activities for the UEH University Board of Directors in development strategy. Accordingly, the Department of Finance - Investment Planning has officially been put into operation since May 1, 2024 on the basis of Resolution No. 19/NQ-DHKT-HDDH dated April 25, 2024 of the University Council. Prof.Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao, Deputy Director of the university, was assigned to directly manage the Department of Finance - Investment Planning. Mr. Tran Hoang Tam, Department of Head of Finance - Accounting, was appointed to the position of Standing Deputy Head and Ms. Tran Thi Huyen Thu, Deputy Head of Department of Finance - Accounting, was appointed to hold the position of Deputy Head of the Department of Finance - Investment Planning until completion and reaching decision to appoint leaders of Department of Finance - Investment Planning according to regulations.

The announcement and awarding of decisions on the establishment and appointment of leaders of the Party - Union Office, University Office, and Department of Finance - Investment Planning took place successfully. On behalf of UEH leaders, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong sent congratulations and emphasized the restructuring strategy as well as the operational orientation of the Party - Union Office, University Office, and the Department of Finance - Investment Planning. He hoped that the three units would quickly stabilize their operations and achieve success, contributing to UEH's implementation of the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University development strategy.
