UEH Celebrates the 30th Anniversary of Establishment of the FIBAA Education Accreditation Organization

On November 14, 2024, in Bonn, Federal Republic of Germany, the delegation of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) comprising Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President of UEH, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tien Khai - Head of Quality Assurance - Program Development attended the 30th Anniversary of FIBAA - an international organization for quality assurance and improvement of higher education.
FIBAA (Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation) is an international organization for quality assurance and improvement in higher education, headquartered in Germany and Switzerland. FIBAA has been recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training to perform accreditation in Vietnam.
University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City is an important partner of FIBAA in Vietnam. Since 2016, UEH has cooperated with FIBAA in the accreditation of educational quality at the institutional level and UEH's training programs. Up to now, UEH has successfully accredited 19 training programs and is especially the first unit in Vietnam to be certified by FIBAA for institutional accreditation in 2022.
At the 30th Anniversary Celebration of FIBAA on November 14, UEH was the only representative of Asian higher education institutions attending alongside guests who were European and Federal Republic of Germany officials in the field of quality assurance in higher education.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Hoai - Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Asian Business and Economic Studies - , who connected UEH with FIBAA and implemented quality assurance and accreditation activities at UEH since 2016, on behalf of UEH, delivered a speech congratulating the remarkable development of FIBAA since its establishment. He emphasized the importance of quality assurance and accreditation at UEH and the journey with FIBAA from 2016 to 2024. Summarizing the important achievements of UEH in terms of quantity and quality of training programs and educational institutions accredited by FIBAA. He also emphasized that the valuable cooperation between UEH and FIBAA will continue to grow.

On behalf of UEH, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung sent the UEH present to FIBAA to mark a milestone in cooperation for the development of higher education quality between UEH and FIBAA.
Ms. Diane Freiberger - FIBAA Executive - sincerely thanked UEH for the affection and expressed her hope that FIBAA will continue to accompany UEH in the upcoming years.

In addition, during the visit to FIBAA headquarters, the UEH delegation also worked and exchanged expertise with Ms. Nina Rotermund - Head of FIBAA International Accreditation Department - on the set of standards and cooperation plans for the period 2025-2030.

On the internationalization roadmap, UEH identifies educational quality assessment as a key task and regularly self-assesses and improves quality to meet the standards of prestigious domestic and international accreditation organizations. The partnership with FIBAA - a prestigious accreditation organization in the world - is the proof of the success in educational accreditation according to international standards of UEH in particular , and training in general.
