Growing step by step with the continuous development of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), UEH College of Business (COB) marks a year 2024 with many proud achievements, demonstrating the continuous efforts of a dynamic and cohesive collective in the journey of education and training of high-quality human resources in the field of business, research and cooperation.

Impressive figures of COB in 2024:

+ 8,512 students and learners of all levels were enrolled in 180 short-term training courses with 4,265 diplomas granted to learners.

+ 01 State-level topic; 11 Ministry-level topics; 05 Nafosted topics; 52 University-level topics; 119 ISI/Scopus/ABDC articles; 528 student topics won the "UEH Young Researcher" award.

+ 183 submitted research articles; 38 parallel discussion sessions; 03 specialized talks; 02 workshops for PhD students; and 01 editor meeting took place in the i-COB 2024 International Conference.

+ 1,750 students visited businesses; 2,386 students participated in the Business Semester; 1,408 businesses accompanied students; and 126 extracurricular reporting sessions for students.

+ 120 international lecturers and experts came to COB to work, participate in international conferences, visit and exchange directly and online; and 159 international students studied, exchanged, and interacted at COB.

Affirming their position in training

With their strengths in training programs in business and related fields, COB continues to maximize its potential and constantly improve the quality of training, aiming to provide society with high-quality human resources, with knowledge and skills that are constantly updated, quickly adapting to the constant movements of the economy and the increasing demands of the domestic and international labor market. Its overall training scale is constantly increasing, with 8,512 students and learners of all levels enrolled each year with training programs being always updated and developed. 11 of its training programs meet FIBAA accreditation standards, have high connectivity with international programs, or are recognized by prestigious professional associations in the world such as CFA, ICEAW, ACCA, CPA, GARP, CMT. Therefore, the College recorded impressive admission scores for many majors in 2024, affirming its leading position in business majors. New interdisciplinary programs, combining business with technology and computers, have made great strides. In particular, the International Human Resource Training Program in Finance - Banking that UEH was honored to be assigned by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to develop and implement has also been officially issued and is preparing for admission. These results not only demonstrate the position, prestige, and attractiveness of the majors at UEH College of Business but also contribute to implementing the multidisciplinary development strategy and closely following the modern technology trends of UEH. 

The year 2024 also marks a remarkable development of the COB Short-term Training Center - Institute for Human Resource and Business Development (Huderin) - over 20 years of formation and development, with 180 courses organized, 4,265 certificates granted, contributing to improving knowledge of economic management, leadership and human resource management for learners. In addition, Huderin also contributes to the business field and localities through applied research consulting for companies, businesses, and implementing research topics on territorial planning, industry development planning for southern provinces and cities.

Scientific Research Achievements - Imprint of “International Conference of Business Theories and Practices (i-COB 2024 International Conference)

Contributing to scientific research achievements and international publications, enhancing UEH's academic reputation domestically and internationally, the UEH College of Business's teaching staff always upholds the task of scientific research with encouraging results; with 01 State-level topic, 11 Ministry-level topics, 05 Nafosted topics, 52 School-level topics, 119 ISI/Scopus/ABDC articles and 528 student topics winning the "UEH Young Researcher" award.

In addition, COB has made efforts to successfully organize scientific conferences at the School and Institute levels, participating in national and international conferences, bringing about a widespread influence in the academic community. In particular, UEH College Business has successfully organized the i-COB International Conference 2024 for the first time, affirming their commitment to contributing to global knowledge and solving social and business challenges. This is a prestigious forum where experts and researchers share groundbreaking research, innovative and practical solutions enhancing UEH's position on the international scientific map while promoting sustainable development goals. The conference attracted the enthusiastic participation of the academic community with 183 research papers from scholars and researchers from prestigious domestic and international universities and research institutes, representing countries such as the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Switzerland, and Poland. With 38 parallel discussion sessions; 03 specialized talks; 02 workshops for graduate students; and 01 editor meeting; the event is not only a meeting for outstanding scholars and experts but also affirms UEH's pioneering role in connecting and spreading knowledge for a sustainable future.

Dynamic COB student activities

The year 2024 continues to record the efforts and proud achievements of UEH College of Business students - dynamic and creative young talents. With the support and inspiration from the Faculty, COB students have reached outstanding achievements in academic competitions as well as being given the opportunity to participate in national and international conferences. These activities help students develop their thinking skills in identifying, evaluating, analyzing, and researching, and practice their decision-making skills based on scientific grounds while creating opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to solve practical problems.

During the year, 02 student groups from the College participated in summer camps in Taiwan and Indonesia. UEH College of Business received a group of students from National Kaohsiung University (Taiwan) to study for 2 semesters. In addition, the University promotes international exchange opportunities, creating rich cultural experiences for students through international student exchange activities with partners from Indonesia, Malaysia, Switzerland, New Zealand and so on. In particular, UEH College of Business has successfully organized the ASEAN Summer Camp 2024 program, creating a space for academic and cultural exchange for students of partner schools in the Southeast Asian region. In addition, UEH students have the opportunity to participate in study tours and exchanges in Malaysia, broadening their international vision and learning from practical environments. These activities continue to affirm the University's global integration and development strategy. Concurrently, exchange activities are integrated with training workshops on sustainable development, combined with meaningful community activities in neighboring areas such as Can Gio, Vinh Long and so on, contributing to raising awareness of social responsibility and sustainability to help students develop comprehensively and become global citizens.

Attempts to connect the community

With a network of domestic and foreign partners, COB constantly promotes cooperation and community connection activities, bringing opportunities to experience knowledge values ​​and self-development for learners. Nearly 2,000 students visited businesses in 2024, nearly 2,400 students did internships at businesses, more than 120 extracurricular reports were organized to improve practical knowledge, career counseling, equip students with soft skills, and many student exchange opportunities were connected and implemented by COB's faculty with international partners. In addition, COB's Short-term Training Center has built free courses on an online platform for students and the community to create useful values ​​for society.

Promoting the role of COB Union

With tradition and a spirit of solidarity, COB Union actively implements activities and encourages union members to fully participate in programs organized by UEH Union while focusing on visiting, encouraging and connecting activities, contributing to improving the professional qualifications and skills of union members. Concurrently, COB Union organizes practical activities aiming to care for the lives and spirits of civil servants and employees, creating a harmonious and cohesive working environment.

Inheriting the achievements of UEH throughout the development journey of nearly 50 years, along with the efforts of the staff of UEH  College of Business since its establishment, is a solid foundation for COB to confidently continue to carry out its mission of training high-quality human resources, promoting international relations, research, consulting and transferring new knowledge in the fields of Business, Finance - Banking - Insurance, Accounting - Auditing, Tourism, Hospitality, Sports and Personal Services to the business community, scholars, managers in the region and around the world. Education

Continuing to promote innovation and development of education programs, focusing on the combination of theory and practice, building essential skills and developing professional skills to help students meet international job requirements, and quickly adapt to the development of technology and the process of global integration. In addition, the College will strengthen cooperation with international partners, invite experts and research fellows to participate in teaching and sharing experiences. In particular, the Business Simulation Project (SAP) will be officially included in the education programs in 2025.

Scientific research

The College prioritizes improving the quality of scientific research and international publications in prestigious journals and promotes connections among lecturers, graduate students and domestic and international partners in research. Domestic research at all levels, especially applied research, consulting and transfer, will also be encouraged for lecturers. In particular, it continues to aim to successfully organize the iCOB International Conference 2025, to enhance academic cooperation and increase the number of international articles. Concurrently, COB strives to complete the construction of a standard capacity profile, contributing to affirming global academic prestige.

International cooperation

COB aims to promote international cooperation with prestigious universities and research fellowships with high H-index to improve the quality of training and research. Key activities include developing joint training programs (2+2, 3+1), recognizing subjects/training programs, expanding lecturer-student exchanges, effectively implementing signed MOUs, and encouraging lecturers to participate in prestigious international professional associations. These orientations contribute to enhancing COB's reputation and position in the global academic environment.

Community impact

COB aims to create positive impacts on society through promoting cooperation with international corporations and organizations, organizing seminars and workshops on sustainable development and SDGs in the field of business, implementing educational projects to raise public awareness, and participating in research and policy consulting with the government and stakeholders. In addition, the College continues to expand free training courses, local and community-based curricula, actively spreading sustainable knowledge and contributing to comprehensive development.

Governance and operation

COB aims to optimize resources through affiliated training between faculties, extending interdisciplinary electives, and building a common database on training, scientific research, and partnership cooperation. Concurrently, the College promotes digitalization by completing E-office, implementing online approval and improving the management capacity of the COB website. Activities to improve the capacity and qualifications of staff and servants are focused on, contributing to increasing the efficiency and the quality of the College’s operations./.
