UEH Officials and Employees Sports Festival 2023 - Creating a Solidarity Spirit

As part of a series celebrating the 47th anniversary of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20, the UEH Union successfully organized the traditional sports festival for UEH Officials and Employees. The sports festival successfully connected the solidarity spirit of the UEHer team ready for the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University journey.

As part of the series celebrating the 47th anniversary of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) and the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day on November 20,, the UEH Union successfully organized the traditional sports festival for UEH Officials and Employees. The sports festival successfully connected the solidarity spirit of the UEHer team ready for the Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University journey.

UEH Traditional Sports Festival is a playground to promote the spirit of physical training and sports, improving health and connecting UEH lecturers and employees to enhance work efficiency. Continuing the success of recent years, the UEH Sports Festival 2023 officially takes place, which is an opportunity for UEH Union members to emulate and make achievements to welcome the 12th City’s Union Congress and 16th Vietnam Education Union Congress. It is also a welcome event for UEH to become a Multidisciplinary University officially.

UEH Officials and Employees Sports Festival 2023 takes place from September 17, 2023 to October 15, 2023, at UEH Campus - Nguyen Van Linh; Campus B Nguyen Tri Phuong, District 10; Campus A Nguyen Dinh Chieu, District 3; Tinh Vo Sports Club, Ward 11, District 5. The sports festival attracted the participation of 518 UEHers competing in 7 sports: Table tennis, Badminton, Chinese chess, Online Marathon Running/Walking, soccer mini, tug of war, team coordination. After nearly a month of extremely exciting and bustling competition, the Closing and Awarding Ceremony of the Sports Festival took place on the morning of October 15, 2023 at Nguyen Van Linh Sports Complex.

Attending the Sports Festival and Closing Ceremony, on behalf of Labor Federation Ho Chi Minh City, there was the presence of Ms. Trinh Thi Cam Ha - Member of the Education and Training Personnel Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chau - Member of the Propaganda Department. On the UEH side, there was Prof.Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of UEH Council; Prof.Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH; Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Trang - Vice head of UEH College of Business; Dr. Dinh Thi Thu Hong - Vice head of UEH College of Business; Dr. Thai Kim Phung - Vice Head of UEH College of Technology and Design; Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of UEH Union, Head of Organizing Committee; Dr. Phan Thi Bao Quyen - Vice President of UEH Union; MSc. Phan Thi Thu Hang - Standing Member of UEH Union, Deputy Head of the Standing Organizing Committee; Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Son - Director of the Physical Education Center, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Leaders of UEH Units, D     epartments, and Boards along with members of the Organizing Committee and Referee Team; and especially the presence of a large number of officials - employees who are athletes and fans.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Thien Duy - Chairman of the UEH Union, Head of the Organizing Committee - sent best wishes to the delegates, teachers, referee team, and fans who supported and cheered to bring a successful season of the sports festival: "With a vibrant competitive atmosphere and fair play spirit, after nearly a month of exciting competition, the UEH Officials and Employees Sports Festival 2023 ended successfully. It can be stated that the Sports Festival 2023 is not just a movement activity, it shows the teams great attention and encouragement from government leaders and organizations. Your careful training and preparation before the match have created a fiery atmosphere and attractive matches."

At the closing and award ceremony, the Sports Festival Organizing Committee awarded 15 individual and collective trophies, 248 sets of medals and 32 consolation prizes. The total prize value is nearly 60 million VND.

- Men's soccer - Department of Facilities and Vinh Long Campus

- Tug of war - Department of Facilities 1

- Coordinated team sport - School of Banking in coordination with Medical Center

- Online running/walking (Group of less than 12 athletes) - Medical Center

- Online running/walking (Group of more than 12 athletes) - Dormitory Management Board

Outstanding athlete (Athlete with the most medals): Tran Thi Huyen Thu - Department of Finance and Accounting

Movement athlete (athlete participating in the most sports): Ngo Chi Cuong - Dormitory Management Board

Movement Award: International School of Business 1

The Officials and Employees Sports Festival 2023 took place in a bustling atmosphere with many highly collective competitions, creating conditions for athletes to participate in exciting competitions, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity together with bringing the fans hours of fun, relaxation, and entertainment. Through the Sports Festival, UEHers had the opportunity to promote the spirit of physical training and competing together, thereby connecting, unifying and making practical contributions to the development of the University of Economics of Ho Chi Minh City on the upcoming journey.
