From March 12 to March 14, 2025, a delegation from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), including Professor Dr. Sử Đình Thành – President of UEH and Associate Professor Dr. Hoàng Hải Yến – Dean School of Banking, participated in the kick-off meeting to sign the cooperation agreement for the Micro4Asia project at Masaryk University - Brno, Czech Republic.
Micro4Asia is an international project funded by the European Commission, aiming to modernize and enhance international cooperation of higher education institutions in Vietnam and Laos. The project focuses on developing micro-credentials to promote lifelong learning, improve the quality of higher education, and strengthen academic alignment with European standards.
Micro4Asia has three main objectives, including:
- Upgrading the higher education system in Vietnam and Laos: By transferring methodologies for developing course-based micro-credentials using European standards as a reference.
- Enhancing international academic alignment: Through the development of a common recognition mechanism for micro-credentials. This mechanism will enhance academic alignment at both regional (Southeast Asia) and transnational (Europe - South Asia) levels.
- Strengthening the connection between higher education and employers: By co-developing micro-credentials, the project aims to promote sustainable growth and enhance learners' responsiveness to the labor market in partner countries.
