Programs to Improve Health Awareness and Self-Protection Skills

To empower students with essential skills for personal safety and well-being, UEH organized a series of programs in 2023 that drew widespread student interest.

  • Mental Health Awareness and Support
On July 12, 2023, Department of Student Affairs (DSA) hosted a seminar on mental health led by Dr. Pham Minh Triet, a doctoral researcher from the Australian National University. The session provided students with insights into mental health status, stress management, and self-care strategies to maintain a balanced lifestyle.

  • Eye Health Screening Program
Recognizing the importance of eye health, UEH, in collaboration with Phuong Dong International Eye Center, launched the "Healthy Eyes with UEH" program. From November 1-9, 2023, over 1,300 students received free eye exams, including vision tests, refractive measurements, and retinal screenings, along with guidance on eye care and hygiene.

  • Crime Prevention and Self-Defense Education
On December 2, 2023, UEH hosted a legal seminar titled "Preventing Drug Crimes, Prostitution, Human Trafficking, and Other Offenses," featuring MS. Nguyen Van Duong from DSA and Major Vo Ngoc Toan from the People's Security University. Over 300 students participated, gaining valuable skills for recognizing and avoiding threats from various crimes, further strengthening UEH’s commitment to student safety.

  • Cybersecurity Training
With the rise of cybercrime, UEH partnered with the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police (PA05) to host a seminar on September 24, 2023, providing over 1,000 students with cybersecurity knowledge, covering common tactics like phishing, fraud, and identity theft, helping students navigate and protect themselves in the digital space. The seminar featured the participation of Lieutenants Le Ngoc Khanh and Nguyen Luong Gia Khanh, officers from the Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Police, and highlighted various types of cybercrimes, such as scams that involve impersonating organizations or individuals to steal assets or collect personal data. Through this knowledge, students developed a stronger awareness of online threats, enhancing their vigilance to avoid becoming victims of cybercrime.

This program empowered students with the skills to protect themselves in emergency situations, fostering a proactive approach to personal and community safety.

Through these healthcare and safety initiatives, UEH, alongside its partners, remains committed to improving students' welfare and fostering a well-rounded educational environment. This dedication positions UEH to continue delivering a diverse array of future programs to support students’ holistic development.
