UEH Students Taking a Brilliant Journey in the International Exchange Course "Applying Arts and Culture to Improving the Quality of Life" in Malaysia

On May 5 - 11, 2024, students of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) participated in a journey of discovery and creativity with students of Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) through the international student exchange course "Applying Arts and Culture towards Improving the Quality of Life". The course, jointly organized by the School of Media Design (SMD) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), provided diverse artistic and cultural experiences while developing essential skills for students to become future leaders.

Under the guidance of lecturers from both schools, students not only acquired knowledge regarding Design Thinking but also directly participated in the practical "Community Project: Applying Arts and Culture to Improving the Quality of Life ". Five groups of students spent time researching the current situation and interviewing local residents and tourists, thereby creating practical and unique solutions that contributed to improving life for the community.

In this exchange, in addition to professional knowledge and skills, UEHers would be able to immerse themselves in the vibrant and colorful atmosphere of Penang, exploring unique cultural heritages, and enjoy Malaysia's rich cuisine. In particular, this was also an opportunity to exchange and learn with international friends from USM, helping to expand relationships, practicing communication skills, and increasing understanding of different cultures.

At the end of the course, creative and highly applicable projects were invented by the students listed as Gamification applications helping tourists explore local culture interestingly and effectively; Creative projectors applied art to presenting information and attracting viewers; Emergency contact card integrating escape instructions, fire prevention and personal medical information ensuring user safety.
