UEH actively participates with the government and regional NGOs in developing policies related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through meetings, seminars, and collaborative programs, UEH shares knowledge and experience and listens to valuable feedback from the community. This involvement aims to create effective and practical policies that promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life for all.
Four researchers from the Economy and Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) participated in a special session on "Comprehensive Carbon Transition in Asia: Greening Agriculture and Local Climate Governance" at the 56th Annual Meeting of the Asian Development Bank's Board of Governors. This session was organized to foster dialogue and knowledge-sharing among researchers, policymakers, and practitioners.
The meeting featured lively discussions from researchers of the Economy and Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA).
Two researchers from Environment for Development (EfD) and the Economy and Environment Partnership for Southeast Asia (EEPSEA) shared their expertise at a capacity-building workshop for local government officials in Dong Nai, one of Vietnam's leading industrial provinces. The training program organized by UEH, where both EEPSEA and EfD-Vietnam are based, focused on green growth strategies and sustainable development.

EfD Vietnam recently played an important role in the carbon market dialogue for Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest economic hub. The research team collaborated with local stakeholders, prepared a policy report, and organized a policy dialogue to assess the impact of the carbon market on the city. Their findings and recommendations aim to address potential policy issues and suggest improvements for more effective implementation.

EfD Vietnam collaborated with the Institute of Strategy and Policy, and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and organized a policy training workshop on the circular economy. The workshop aims to train local officials from various southern provinces on implementing circular economy principles at the local level.
The seminar was attended by many delegates and attendees.
What has been the environmental cost of Vietnam's economic growth? And what lies ahead? These were key questions discussed at the Green Growth Workshop held in Ho Chi Minh City, co-hosted by EfD Vietnam, the World Bank, and UEH. The workshop, attended by over 50 participants in person and online, aims to foster sustainable economic growth in Vietnam by sharing deep insights and promoting collaboration.

On the morning of April 2, 2023, the leadership of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) participated in the conference to announce the master plan and promote investment in Khanh Hoa Province for 2023. At the event, UEH also officially signed a cooperation agreement with the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa Province for the 2023-2028 period. As part of this agreement, UEH will work closely with the province to provide consulting and feedback on the development programs, policies, and socio-economic development plans of Khanh Hoa, both annually and over the next five years.

On December 9, 2023, in Nha Trang, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in collaboration with the Khanh Hoa Department of Science and Technology, organized the first scientific workshop on the proposal to establish a National Ocean Technology Research Center. At the workshop, participants focused on analyzing, evaluating, and providing theoretical, political, legal, and practical grounds from both domestic and international experiences on ocean technology research. They also contributed ideas and shared insights on defining the vision, mission, and core values; key research areas; major development pillars; financial mechanisms; co-creation platforms; and the organizational structure and model of the National Ocean Technology Research Center. These contributions will help the UEH research team compile, absorb, and finalize the draft proposal to ensure its quality and meet the deadline for submission to the Prime Minister by April 2024.
