From June 28 to July 2, 2026, the UEH Institute of Innovation (UII), in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Viet Nam and UNDP Asia-Pacific, organized Innovation Immersion 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand. The program combined study visits with participation in the Youth Co:lab Summit, providing UEH students with opportunities to join thematic discussions, engage with young innovators from across the region, and expand their networks with organizations and experts within the Asia-Pacific innovation ecosystem.

Throughout the summit, delegates explored a wide range of topics related to sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, innovation, climate action, and community development. Through keynote sessions, panel discussions, and interactive dialogues, the event reaffirmed the critical role of young people in identifying social challenges, developing innovative solutions, and driving positive change.

During the panel discussion “Ecosystem in Action,” Mr. Vuong Khiet, Manager of Innovation and Entrepreneurial Programs at UEH shared insights into the role of universities in connecting students with businesses, startup support organizations, and international collaboration opportunities.

Mr. Vuong Khiet emphasized: “Universities are not only places for education but also key ecosystem builders. By connecting learners with knowledge, businesses, investors, and innovation communities, universities create opportunities for young people to test ideas, develop their capabilities, and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.”

One of the most memorable highlights of the program was the “Forward From Failure” session. Huynh Gia Man, a K49 FinTech student at the UEH Institute of Innovation, shared his personal journey of overcoming challenges, learning from setbacks, and growing through innovation. His story inspired fellow participants to recognize that innovation is shaped not only by success but also by resilience, reflection, and the determination to move forward after failure.

Following the summit, UEH students joined an international study tour to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and True Digital Park, two leading institutions within Thailand’s education, technology, and innovation ecosystem.

At AIT, students explored an international academic environment, gained insights into applied research, and learned about educational models that promote sustainable development. At True Digital Park – one of Southeast Asia’s largest innovation hubs – they had the opportunity to observe firsthand how startups, technology companies, investors, and entrepreneurial support organizations collaborate to foster innovation.

The Innovation Immersion 2026 program in Bangkok provided UEH students with valuable learning experiences, meaningful connections, and fresh inspiration. Beyond expanding their knowledge of social entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development, the program also helped participants cultivate a global mindset, strengthen their networking capabilities, and develop a proactive approach to engaging in international environments.

The active participation of UEH students in the program further reflects the University’s commitment to connecting education with real-world practice, fostering innovation, and expanding international collaboration. Through international forums such as Innovation Immersion 2026, UEH students, particularly those from the UEH Institute of Innovation (UII), gain greater opportunities to engage with and contribute to the regional startup ecosystem. These experiences empower them to build meaningful partnerships and develop sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives that create lasting impact in Vietnam and across the region.
