First Day Implementing Hybrid Teaching Modality at UEH Campuses

On the morning of 4th January 2022, students of University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) were officially back to study in online-offline combining modality classes (Hybrid Class) in the “new normal”. On this occasion, UEH Board of Management visited and checked teaching as well as safety assurance activities at UEH campuses.

At UEH Nguyen Van Linh Campus, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - Vice President of UEH; Assoc. Prof. Phan Thi Bich Nguyet - Chairwoman of UEH Policy and Strategy Advisory Council and Heads of UEH Departments/Functions visited and examined educational activities.

UEH Inspector Team visited and checked the operation of in-class facilities listed as computers, projectors, online-connecting teaching systems, and so on, with lecturers’ in-person teaching, and students’ online-offline learning as well as safety assurance, entry-exit process control, and Covid-19 prevention at UEH Campuses. After that, UEH Team recommended timely adjustments to create as advantageously as possible conditions enabling teaching and learning in online-offline combining classes (Hybrid Class) to take place smoothly and kindly. 

Inspection upon teaching, facilities, and Covid-19 prevention condition at UEH Campuses 

Prof. Su Dinh Thanh - President of UEH concluded: “The inspection results show that teaching and learning activities on online-offline combining modality basically satisfy lecturers’ and students’ demands. Facilities and class equipment, computers, projectors, teaching connecting systems, speakers, air-conditioners, light are well installed. Moreover, lecturers and students obey strictly entry-exit controlling and Covid-19 prevention regulations in distancing in class, wearing masks and sanitizing. On this basis, UEH will continue improving and creating best advantages for lecturers and students to assure learning activities on Hybrid Class modality can be conducted productively and most effectively.”

In addition, lecturers and students were excited about the first day back to school. “Today, I am very delighted because more than ⅕ of students in this class coming to study face-to-face, they are completely excited and share their hope to study offline. Most students studying at home inform that they will go back to study offline. In terms of facilities, they are all well-operated, both lecturers and students are quickly adaptable. In terms of safety, everybody conducts health declarations and temperature measurements when arriving, and students are suggested to keep their distance in class, that’s why I feel rather secure.” - Ms. Hoang Thi My Duyen, Lecturer of School of International Business - Marketing shared.

“I consider entering UEH is extremely safe since security guards measure my temperature and control the entry-exit process. Coming back to school to study face-to-face, in my opinion, is so wonderful because we are going to interact with each other after 3 - 4 months of quarantine.” Ho Viet Minh Tri, a K45 Regular Mode student shared.

With a similarly excited emotion, Lien Nhat Nam, a K46 full-time student informed: “I am absolutely enjoying in-person learning and seeing my friends again. I suppose that studying face-to-face inspires me and allows me to interact with my lecturers and friends much better. I hope that my studying outcomes in this offline semester will be greater than the previous online semester.” 

UEH lecturers and students are interested in the first day studying on Hybrid Class modality

At UEH Vinh Long Campus, Hybrid Class modality was implemented for Physical Education subjects on the morning of 04th January 2022 with the rate of direct students gaining 76%. Additionally, this Campus is equipped sufficiently with modern machines, technological platforms, and facilities to deploy major subjects on Hybrid Class modality in accordance with schedules next week.

In the upcoming time, UEH will continue improving and upgrading facilities, and create advantages for organizing teaching and learning in the “new normal” condition efficiently and securely. UEH expects lecturers and students to join hands in effectively carrying out teaching and learning activities in the new semester as well as Covid-19 prevention.
