The 4th SOB Research Seminar 2023: “Qualitative methods in business research”

On the afternoon of November 10, 2023, the School of Banking of UEH College of Business organized the 4th Seminar (SRS2023) on the topic: "Qualitative methods in business research", featuring a presentation by the keynote speaker, Pro. Dr. Desmond Doran.

Professor Desmond Doran is an expert in Operations and Supply Chain Management. He holds a PhD in Buyer-Supplier Relations from the University of Portsmouth and an MBA degree (with High Distinction) from Warwick Business School, as well as being the author of numerous articles in the field of modular supply chains and a frequent critic for many top-ranking journals. In addition, Professor Desmond Doran also teaches several undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Kingston University, Queen Mary College, University of London, Brunel University, and Audencia Business School, Nante. Furthermore, he has provided Supply Chain and Operations Improvement training for several clients, including Oman Air, Dolphin Gas, and Qatar Bank.

This time, SRS2023 attracted the attention of more than 20 lecturers, postgraduates, and students attending in B1.203.

The presentation was extremely exciting and engaging with many questions exchanged from professors, lecturers, postgraduates, and students. Most of the comments revolve around the case study method in qualitative research.

In the spirit of sharing and learning from experience, the discussion ended with a joyful and successful atmosphere at 4:00 P.M. on the same day. This is a periodic activity in the Scientific Seminar Series of the School of Banking in 2023 according to UEH's direction of developing a Multidisciplinary and Sustainable University. It aims to create a forum for academic exchange among UEH lecturers and researchers, with a special emphasis on research methods in the fields of economics, finance, and banking.
