Within the framework of the "UEH Global 50+ Partners in 5 Continents" program, the leadership delegation of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) conducted a visit and working session at Monash University (Australia).
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to review implemented cooperation activities, exchange development orientations for the new phase, and continue to expand cooperation opportunities in training, scientific research, and international academic exchange.
The UEH leadership representatives participating in the working session included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the UEH Strategic Development Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Chairman of the Science and Training Council; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Rector of UEH.ISB Honours College.
Strengthening knowledge and research connections with Monash University
Within UEH's international partner network, Monash University is one of Australia's leading research universities with many aligned orientations in training, research, and education internationalization. As a member of the Group of Eight (Go8) – an alliance of Australia's eight leading research-intensive universities – Monash is highly regarded for its training quality, research capacity, and significant global influence.
Since establishing their cooperative relationship in 2023, the former ISB Institute, now UEH.ISB Honours College, has made significant strides in expanding connections across multiple fields, from academic exchange and scientific research to developing international training programs with Monash University. Cooperation between the two universities is not only focused on business but has also expanded into fields such as communications, innovation, and areas linked to the development needs of the knowledge economy.
One of the prominent educational cooperation activities is the Global Pathways partial Bachelor's program, which allows students to complete their initial study phase at UEH before transferring to Monash University to complete their bachelor's degree and receive their qualification in Australia. This model enables learners to access high-quality education from a Go8 university while optimizing costs and study time compared to a full study abroad pathway.
Additionally, Monash Business School is simultaneously accredited by three prestigious global quality assessment organizations (AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA). Monash's training strengths in Economics and Business have risen to the top ranks among Australian universities, offering UEH students more high-quality options in terms of majors, study pathways, and career development opportunities in an international environment.

The cooperation between the two institutions also creates a foundation for promoting joint research activities, academic exchange between lecturers and researchers, while expanding opportunities for developing postgraduate training programs.
This visit and working session further consolidates the cooperative relationship between UEH and Monash University, affirming the commitment to partnership in implementing training, research, and academic initiatives with practical value. Strengthening connections with a Go8 university – a group of world-leading research universities – also reflects UEH's progress in its education internationalization strategy, aiming to expand opportunities for lecturers, researchers, and students to broadly access global academic and research networks in the coming period.
