On June 1, 2026, representatives of the Leadership Board of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) conducted a visit and working session at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, within the framework of the "UEH Global 50+ Partners in 5 Continents" program. The working trip focused on discussing cooperation orientations in the fields of education linked to innovation, applied research, and human resource development in the context of digital transformation.
The UEH delegation comprised Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the UEH Strategic Development Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Chairman of the UEH Science and Training Council; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Rector of UEH.ISB School of Talents. The two sides held a working session to discuss cooperation opportunities in training, research, and business connectivity within the education-technology ecosystem in Sydney.
The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is one of Australia's leading young universities, distinguished by its development model linking education, applied research, and innovation.
In the process of education internationalization, UEH in general and UEH.ISB School of Talents in particular, together with UTS, have gradually expanded cooperation in fields such as practice-oriented training, academic exchange, and professional capacity development for students in an international environment. The cooperation focuses on enhancing innovative thinking, adaptability, and work capacity in the context of a rapidly changing global landscape.
The common ground in the educational orientation between UTS and UEH lies in training that closely combines theory and practice, enabling students not only to master professional knowledge but also to approach practical business problems during their studies. Training programs are designed based on the actual needs of the labor market, with advisory input from businesses, experts, and professional organizations. This helps students develop problem-solving thinking, adaptability in global work environments, critical thinking, and professional skills in international contexts.
Cooperation activities with UTS are promoted through the Global Pathways partial Bachelor's program – a strategic academic bridge between UEH and international partner universities. Students build a solid academic foundation, develop independent thinking, research skills, and learning capacity in an international environment before transitioning to UTS to complete their program and receive a bachelor's degree in Australia. The program not only demonstrates the commitment of UEH and UTS to promoting education internationalization but also contributes to creating a transnational learning pathway, enabling learners to access international academic standards and develop adaptive capacity in the context of globalization.
This working visit of the UEH leadership delegation to UTS continues to consolidate the cooperative relationship between the two institutions, while opening up new opportunities to strengthen academic connections, research, and international exchange in the next development phase. In the context of global higher education undergoing many transformations, the partnership between UEH and UTS continues to affirm the role of international cooperation in enhancing training quality, expanding transnational learning experiences, and equipping learners with the essential competencies of global citizens.
