UEH runs a free digital transformation project for high schools

University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) officially implements the free digital transformation project for high schools, called Global Learning, through the dashboard https://global.ueh.edu.vn/.

With the desire to share and transfer experiences of digital transformation in teaching and learning activities for high schools, especially schools with geographic limitations and difficulties in implementing online teaching and learning. The Global Learning project has 06 main products, including (1) Online teaching and learning; (2) Organize the constructed-response test and online multiple-choice test, (3) Mix the questions and multiple-choice test answers on paper, (4) Online high school graduation preparation course, (5) Personality test program, career selection and (6) Admission advisory function.

The project is expected to support teachers and high school students in applying information technology to teaching, organizing exams, studying, practicing, and choosing careers, helping high school teachers to manage online classes, and supporting students with online preparation courses and career orientation. This March, UEH officially implemented 4/6 products for teaching, organizing exams and online preparation and has experimentally tested at high schools in Vinh Long.

The system is being tested in Vinh Long.

Sharing about the idea of launching online teaching system Global Learning, Dr. Bui Quang Hung - UEH Vice President expressed: “The community project supporting free digital transformation for high schools is part of the UEH University's general digital transformation strategy, with the desire to join with UEH's partners to improve the capacity of digital transformation in the field of education, support teachers at high schools to gradually familiarize themselves with the online teaching and learning environment and help students practice studying online right when they are still students."

Support online teaching for high school teachers

For online teaching products for high school teachers, the Global Learning system helps to create courses, teaching online via the available BigBlueButtonBN tool, posting learning or reference materials, organizing online essay tests, mixing multiple-choice and automatic answers, creating surveys, forums that answer questions from students and advise them.

In addition, the online teaching system Global Learning also integrates the Test marking system: https://chamthitracnghiem.ueh.edu.vn/ which UEH builds based on artificial intelligence technology (AI). After students take the multiple choice test on the sample answer sheets using the national high school graduation exam sample answer sheets, teachers use a regular scanner to scan the students' multiple choice test answer sheets and upload them to the website; the system will send the results to the teachers' email. Teachers then can see detailed instructions on how to use the online teaching system here.

Online graduation exam preparation course for high school students, especially grade 12 students.

In phase 1, UEH implemented an online high school graduation exam preparation course for high school students; this product is a database integrating all exam questions of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Civic Education from 2015 to the present, integrated with self-marking function. As a result, students in grades 11 and 12 can self-review and evaluate their knowledge and be better prepared for the final exam. This is also an opportunity for students to gradually familiarize themselves with the online study environment, practice self-study spirit, and be ready for blended-learning integrated classes (classes include traditional lessons combined with online lessons) in a university environment.

The Global Learning online learning and teaching system demonstrates the school's social responsibility in supporting, connecting, and spreading knowledge. This is also one of the projects in the UEH's general digital transformation strategy, with the desire to improve digital transformation capacity in education with its partners, contributing to the knowledge dissemination in the community.
