Within the framework of the "UEH Global 50+ Partners in 5 Continents" program, the leadership delegation of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) paid a visit and held working sessions with Deakin University (Australia). The meeting served as an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on cooperation directions in training, research, academic exchange, and the development of international education initiatives, while continuing to strengthen the partnership between the two institutions in the new phase.
The UEH leadership delegation participating in the working trip included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the UEH Strategic Development Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Chairman of the Science and Training Council; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Rector of the School of Talents (UEH.ISB). At the working session, the leaders of the two universities exchanged views on higher education trends in the global context, particularly learner-centered education models linked to learning experiences, professional competencies, and student quality of life.
As one of UEH's academic partners in Australia, Deakin University has accompanied UEH in various education internationalization activities and the development of global learning experiences for learners.
Over the years, the two sides have implemented numerous cooperation activities in training and academic exchange. Notably, the Deakin Global Hub model, developed through cooperation with UEH, has helped bring international education standards closer to Vietnamese students, while creating conditions for learners to access a global learning environment right in Vietnam.
Additionally, through the Global Pathways partial Bachelor's program implemented by the ISB Institute, UEH.ISB School of Talents, in collaboration with Deakin University, students can complete their initial study phase of 0.5–1 year at UEH before transitioning to Deakin University to continue their program and receive an international degree in Australia. The program not only expands access to high-quality education for Vietnamese students but also helps learners adapt early to the international academic environment, develop integration capabilities, and increase their competitive advantage in the global labor market.
