On June 1, 2026, the Leadership Board of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) conducted a visit and working session at Macquarie University (Australia) to discuss and promote strategic cooperation directions in training, research, and high-quality human resource development. The working trip is part of UEH's internationalization strategy, aiming to expand its global academic partner network and strengthen educational connections within the "UEH Global 50+ Partners in 5 Continents" activity series.
The UEH leadership delegation participating in the working trip included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong - Chairman of the UEH Strategic Development Council; Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh - Chairman of the Science and Training Council; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ha Minh Quan - Rector of the School of Talents (UEH.ISB).
Within UEH's international partner network, Macquarie University is one of the strategic academic partners in the Asia-Pacific region, accompanying UEH in training, research, and education internationalization activities.
Over the years, the cooperative relationship between UEH and Macquarie University has been continuously strengthened through academic exchange activities, curriculum development, and research for faculty and students, including applied scientific research, student and staff mobility programs, short-term exchange programs, while expanding educational cooperation initiatives in business, communications, and data science, aligned with global higher education development trends.

Notably, since 2020, one of the exemplary cooperation milestones has been the Global Pathways study abroad program, implemented by the ISB Institute, UEH.ISB School of Talents, in collaboration with Macquarie University. The program enables students to complete their initial study phase at UEH.ISB before transitioning to Australia to continue their program and receive a bachelor's degree from Macquarie University. The program not only offers a flexible transnational learning pathway but also helps learners access international academic standards, experience a multicultural education environment, build resilience in a highly competitive environment, and develop integration capabilities in the context of globalization. From this foundation, many program alumni are currently studying, working, and developing their careers in Australia and Vietnam, including alumni working at multinational enterprises and corporations where professional competence and adaptability in international environments are highly valued.
Additionally, UEH.ISB students have access to various Macquarie scholarships, such as the ASEAN Partner Scholarship valued at up to $15,000 AUD for students with outstanding academic performance during their initial phase at UEH. The study abroad model also helps students optimize tuition costs, saving up to approximately 60% compared to a full study abroad pathway, while still ensuring a comprehensive international learning experience.
Building on the strategic cooperation foundation cultivated over the years, UEH and Macquarie University expect to continue accompanying each other in creating academic values, expanding international learning opportunities, and promoting high-quality human resource development. This also demonstrates UEH's efforts to connect with world-leading education partners to bring positive impacts to learners and the community.
Macquarie University is one of Australia's leading universities, distinguished by its expansive campus and integrated learning ecosystem. The university possesses an academic environment closely linked with a strong partner enterprise system and research centers, creating conditions for students to access practical experience during their studies.
In addition to strengths in facilities and a modern learning environment, the Macquarie Business School is also one of the prestigious business training schools, holding numerous international accreditations and attracting a large number of international students.
With a strong internationalization orientation, Macquarie University is expanding its global cooperation network, including in Southeast Asia, and UEH is one of the important strategic partners in this region -1. The Joint Bachelor Program with Macquarie University operates in a 2+1 mode of delivery, where students complete two years of study at UEH.ISB before transferring to Macquarie for the final year.
